Ratcheting a bolt through plastic is pretty easy since there is almost not resistance, especially when the bolt is already making screeching sounds as it threads through the welded nut.

I have met the moron and he...is ME
I realized yesterday, as I was working on the bike that the Moron that screwed the bolt into the battery was probably me. Hey...I'm man enough to admit my Stupidity. I was thinking about it and The Spring Seat I had on the bike had lower mount plate that the seat hinge and springs mounted to, so...longer bolts.
