The Motorcycle Story....Part 52...The Founders Day Ride

Founder's RIDE - 2015.

We were surprised when Tom rode into D&D just in time for AOB, and on Jim's 2014 Limited. He now says that if you want to ride, you need to own FOUR HD's!

Tom led, with Dana in the position of honor, Ernie rode behind Tom and I was tail-gunner.

We enjoyed Raymond Hill Rd. up to Rt.82, over to Rt.11, up to Rt.2, over to Rt.91 until we took the access road to the airport and found back roads from there to our destination. We rode around that pot hole capital of MA called Springfield!!

I must say, it was cool and comfortable, a most appropriate "leather weather" day! We showed our respect to Ralph and Ruth Strong, who were buried in Easthampton, MA., and got back on the road trying to beat the rain home. We stopped at Bears Smokehouse in Windsor and really enjoyed some Kansas City style BBQ! Got on the bikes and headed home. As we got into Hartford it started to sprinkle, and by the time we got to Glastonbury we were getting pretty wet. We lost Ernie at the Day Pond exit, and I waved goodbye to Tom and Dana as they went down Rt.11 and I went down Rt.2. I blazed home to hang the horns to drip dry, and settled down in front of the pellet stove with Momma.

All in all, it was a great day spent with good friends!
