A friend from Ohio asked, "What is a sand worm"?










Sandworms live in the sand in the ocean. They are very popular as bait for salt water fishing. the sand worm, unlike the video above do bite but aren't really painful. The mouth opens, the jaw section extends ad the two pinchers...pinch. It is usually more a reaction to the bite than the pain of a bite that people yell about when it occurs. As bait they have to best kept damp, this is why they usually come in a box with seaweed. When perforated with a hook they squirt out a brownish green goo.

That is a sand worm...unless you watch Beetlejuice
