A day on a dock

Great day spent collecting sun on the Lake, Every year they hold a 4th of July Boat parade.
I was the only one at the Lake house until about 2pm. When the rest arrived someone asked me if there were any nice boats in the parade. I grew up on the River and Ocean, spent most days either fishing or boating. Somehow I can't find any of the Lake boats outstanding, most of the boats I watched coming into Mystic or in The Sound had Life boats bigger than these puddle jumpers.

Julie Spent a large protion of theday un raveling fishing line, the photo below could have been taken at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm...
Her boyfriend started out with a mini hook and caught a few small Pumpkin Seeds, (the fish, not the seed) He then attached the Pumpkin seed to a larger hook and caught a Largemouth Bass.

Julie never gave up though, and finally, after sunset, after using worms and small lures finally tried a jitter bug, fist cast...Bass.

I just collected sun, alcohol, and food, all in all, a pretty damn nice day.

Some time after the Fireworks started, a show which puts Groton New London to shame, (It was amazing how many people had mortars running off about every dock and shoreline) A group started chanting (real loud) U.S.A, U.S.A.
Brandon said from the way they sounded they should change the chant to "We are Drunk We are Drunk"
