After filling in all your pertinent personal information you have to list your "Ammunition Storage Components" Now I found this description somewhat cryptic. So I went on line to CT-Gov and checked out the STATE OF CONNECTICUT, DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES AND PUBLIC PROTECTION
DIVISION OF STATE POLICE , Special Licensing & Firearms Unit, FAQS REGARDING P.A. 13-3 As Amended by P.A. 13-220 form. It states you can own High Capacity magazines if:
- You lawfully possessed the large capacity magazines prior to the effective date of the Act;
- You declare the large capacity magazine on or before January 1, 2014. Each LCM does not have to be declared separately, merely by number of same make, and caliber (e.g. 10, Glock, .40 S&W).
- At home, where you may fill them to capacity;
- At a licensed firing range, shooting range or licensed gun club, where you may fill them to capacity
- At your place of business or other property owned by you, so long as the LCM contains no more than ten bullets;
- When being lawfully transported between these places or to a
- licensed gun dealer, so long as the LCM contains no more than ten bullets (see Q 13 regarding transport)
- In a pistol while in public pursuant to a valid carry permit so long as the LCM contains no more than ten bullets and the LCM does not extend more than one inch beyond the bottom of the pistol grip. The bullet in the chamber of the gun does not count toward the ten bullets in the magazine limit.
But the declaration form states "Make if )available)
EX: Ammunition Storage Components"
What is an Ammunition Storage Component?
So I checked the fact sheet and that gives me a description of a Large Capacity Magazine. Which is as follows:
A “Large capacity magazine” is any firearm magazine, belt, drum,
feed strip or similar device that has the capacity of, or can readily be restored or converted to accept , more than ten rounds of ammunition, but does not include:
- A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than ten rounds of ammunition,
- A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device,
- A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever action firearm, or
- A magazine that is permanently inoperable.”
That didn't quite answer the question, I mean I understand the entire Large Capacity Magazine description but the form says :
"Ammunition Storage Components". I assume (which I hate to do regarding any type of law or rule) that they are considering the term storage components to mean "Large Capacity magazines" but to be truthful, a storage component is any item used to store. So are these following objects storage devices, if your type ammunition storage devices into the internet you get:
The funny thing is, out of all the pictures that come up when searching that term... only two pictures of magazines pop up.
Well, here's the information FAQ sheet from CT-Gov...

I wrote this because not everyone who owns a gun is a "Gun collector" or a Gun enthusiast, some people buy guns for protection. They may not know that "Ammunition Storage Components" is a Company it is ASC LLC, as is Magpul Industries. I myself would have chosen that company as an example, right off the bat you know it's a company not a term.
