Oil through the decades

Decades..oh my God...

When I started with "this" car line in 1981, there were two oil types used, 10W60 Synthetic for the Motorsport engines,

 and 20w50 non synthetic for all standard engines:

All of a sudden 20w50 went away, 15w40 took over

these were all bottle by Castrol.

In 2015 the supplier became Shell

Starting in January, BMW is again migrating,

to zero weight oils, 0w30 and 0w20

I believe the zero weights are actually being supplied by Filippo Berio
