When fast was Fast, inexpensive, not pretentious, and tasted great

Before "Billions served" there was buy them by the bag. I hate to age myself but I remember when Mickey D's was still counting, the sign had changeable numbers I can still remember "10 million Served"

Back then there were no health facts on the walls (no one was saying this was good for you, just good). This was fast food, they didn't cook it when you ordered it, the add said A coke, a burger, and fries and change back from your dollar. There were stainless steel divided chutes, each section packed with a different item, Big Macs, cheeseburgers, hamburgers, filet o fish etc. The counter person just popped open a bag, grabbed each item you ordered off the chute, filled the bag and sent you on your way. the cooks dumped the fresh cooked at the top of the rack from the back.
Even the french fries were pre-loaded in divider racks...It was all about inexpensive and grab as you go fast.

The funniest thing is, back then the burgers tasted better, they also did not go through you like they were made out of 50% prune juice (I don't know what they are doing today, but 90% of all fast food goes through 90% of the population faster than food should).

The best thing was, when you walked in, you could see which rack had the most and if you were hungry and in a hurry just order that, it cut down a lot of waiting.
