New season of Riding is arriving

Soon the roads will be full of bikes and full of larger vehicles that eat bikes. Let's face it, anything can happen while you are riding, a car can pull out in front, you could hit sand or oil in a corner, hell a painted crosswalk in the rain can put a person down. This is why I can't understand people's need to perform stupid and careless moves on a bike. Enough things can go wrong on any day why add stupidity to the equation.

Sure it's cool watching people do stunts on bikes, but hey should be performing them in a fenced off or safe area in a parking lot. Stunt's on the road should be treated as criminal. The problem is, the people doing the stunts on the roadways either don't consider the consequences of their failure or how it may affect other motorists. And in case you are not aware of this, you may think you look cool and bad-ass doing your wheelies between lanes of traffic, but most of the people in traffic just think you are an asshole, and "That" gets aimed at all motorcyclists because of you.

It's not just the sport bikes either, there are too many people out there on motorcycles who just don't have a clue. They don't know their surroundings or just go into a world of their own. Riding is said to help people forget their troubles, sort of therapy, but it doesn't work to forget you are still in the world and there are people around you.

Not one of the following people will be able to react if anything happens.

More?

Have you ever seen a chain reaction of bikes going down when someone in formation does something dumb, it isn't pretty.

So remember, use intelligence, and while your out there keep your eyes open to your surroundings, when the people around you start doing things like the photos above, it's usually a good time to give them room or stop being around them.

Because when shit goes wrong it usually happens fast.

Whether it is caused by another bike, a car driver texting, a truck changing lanes, it really doesn't matter the outcome can be ugly.

So stay alert, stay safe.

And Trust me, I left the gruesome photos off this post.
