Honda, I wasn't my first car

The new Honda Commercial say's that it was your first car, it will be your next car, BZZZZZZT WRONG.   When I was a mere infant cruising around in the late 60's Honda wasn't even thought of as a car just as motorcycles. Back in the late 60's and early 70's an import car was a Volkswagen, a Porsche, A Saab, Renault, or Fiat. The Japanese cars were something we laughed at.  Domestic cars back then were big, comfortable, powerful and American. The Gas crunch changed all that. The Japanese invasion started to take momentum in the mid to late 70's. The only Japanese cars you really saw were Toyota's, and Subaru's (I worked for Subaru in 1976).

So Honda, believe it or not, we're not dead yet, There are still plenty of people alive, driving, and buying vehicles that wouldn't have even looked at a Japanese car for our first car. If you remember even Toyota's first attempt in the U.S. was a failure, they noticed this when they tried to take one on something they hadn't planned the car for, Interstate Highways. It barely climbed the access ramp.

And as for motorcycles, sorry Honda,  My first bike was a Yamaha.

Oh yeah, just to make something else clear, my next car, will be a Toyota, just like the one I drive now.
