U Turn Tip

Most roads have a camber to them, this means the center on teh road is higher than the edges of the road, this allows water to run off the surface.

When making a U Turn on a level road, it is a simple matter of making sure nothing is coming, then looking through the maneuver to where you want the bike to end up, (You go where you look)

On an incline this becomes a little more difficult and there is a different procedure. On an incline the road is working against you in two ways, the angle of the incline and the camber.

To make a U turn on an incline do not want to look all the way through the turn, and you must keep the bike vertical in relation to the road.

To help do this you want to direct your sight line past, but in line with the top of the camber or center of the road.

Remember the force of gravity will want to bring you left and downward.

Once you reach the center of the road you will change your sight line to be where you want the bike to go. The automatic tendency of the bike at this point will be down and to the left.
