Here's what you did, before the bike was at idle you killed the ignition switch. Now the bike doesn't know where flat idle is. If you twist the throttle forward and hold it the idle drops to zero, as soon as you let go the idle climbs again. It has forgotten where the zero reading is.
The fix, I have been informed, is to re-boot the bike. With the run switch on and with your hand off the throttle turn the ignition switch on
Allow the system to fully load, ready for start, shutoff the ignition and turn it back on again and allow to load. Do this four times and the computer should find the zero point on the throttle and reset the potentiometer to that point.
