While riding your motorcycle it is good to know where the sun is. If you look in your mirror and all you see is sun glare, this is the same thing people looking your way see before they pull out in front of you. A motorcycle casts very little shadow, it has a thin silhouette, Oft times a car will be seen coming because of that shadow where a bike will be missed completely.

So when you are riding with the sun to your back at sunrise or sunset and you see a car waiting to pull out. Come off the fuel a tad, cover the brakes, and be ready to perform some defensive maneuvering.
