President Taft (one of the first golf playing presidents), received grief from the Public and News services who believed that a President who took time off from being President to play golf was horrible and he was shirking his duty to the Country.
What makes this funny is not only that just about every President since then has been playing the game, but, seeing his play it makes a person wonder why he bothered.
President Taft created record at the 17th hole at Kebo Valley Golf course in Bar Harbor Maine for hitting a 27 on that par 4 hole. That record still stands today.
One of his shots even struck his military aide.
