Helmet Law NTSB

Here is a link to the 2011 Nebraska Meeting

My favorite Line:

Helmets Laws Do Increase Helmet Use

No Shit, Really, you mean motorcyclists don't want to be pulled over, hassled and ticketed

You can find Mandatory helmet Laws being pushed for by the NTSB  just about every year and every report on motorcycles.

Don't think NTSB is just hanging out in Nebraska, last year they put in a recommendation for a Federal helmet Law.

I sent them a letter back, It essentially stated, as a rider of a motorcycle, I reserve the right to decide whether or not to wear a helmet. It also asked the NTSB how a government agency can mandate safety laws for motorcycles, when motorcycles are sold everyday that can hit 200 mph. (Sorry Sporters, but it is a contradiction). There is nowhere I can think of where speeds of 100 mph and up are legal in the United States. How can a Government Agency allow vehicles to be built to travel at excessive illegal speeds and at the same time dictate a safety item.

Leave the Bikes alone and let those who ride decide.

Speaking of which...
