Everyone gets a trophy

On the Dave and Tom show this morning they mentioned, Lindsay Lohan has  a new Tattoo, it is an Arabic tattoo which means "She is Beautiful". Well that's what she thought it meant, Actually it means She is a Donkey (Ass).

I agree with this philosophy. A trophy, when I was growing up, was something you earned, it was earned by doing something better than everyone else. Unfortunately society has now deemed that it is bad to leave the others out of awards.  What a crock. The way I see it, and by the way, in my entire life I have never received a trophy, a Trophy is designed not only to award the person who earned it, but it is suppose to inspire others to try harder. Sure everyone is not going to win one, but by trying harder we better ourselves, we reach new personal heights, so even if you don't get the number one award, you have increased your personal value.

But no, it seems too many of the people who didn't get a trophy, those people who were either under achievers or just couldn't see what trying gets you, have become vocal. So now, everyone who showed up for an event gets an award. From the person who led the pack to the person who sat in the corner. We Award Mediocrity.

Without learning to lose, we lose the ability to lose well, we lose by giving up. What is the point of trying harder if I can get the same reward for just being there. We become a nation who's feeling are hurt if we show up somewhere, do nothing, blend in with the background, perform no actual involvement and no one notices us.

A little fact for all those people who push to give everyone a trophy, Life is not always easy, things can go wrong, Jobs can be had and lost, homes can go away. Sooner or later, no doubt about it, that person who's feelings you protected all through their youth is going to have to face a bitterness. 

How are they going to handle it? Are they going to put the loss behind them? Are they going to dive back in the deep end and continue trying to survive and be successful, or are they just going to give up, because they will feel it's all impossible. Are they going to go for that trophy they can get for being "just another schmuck" and latch onto some government funded, State subsidized program, where they can sit in the corner and be rewarded for breathing. 

The funny part is, those that have found the easy way, those that ride the system for all it's worth actually feel like they accomplished something, they beat a system. 

A little information for you, they beat nothing, they just take advantage of programs designed to help those who actually need help. What these losers have become, is just another parasite living on the living. Step up, I was wrong, you did actually earned something, step up and get your trophy, You have proved you are the most useless of all...You win.
