World War Two Military Half Tracks (M3): Who made them?

AutoCar

White

Diamond T

There were also other tracked trucks used in Military service

AutoCar

Chevrolet

Half tracks were around before WWII but saw most use during that war.

GMC

Ford

Ford  actually has a story none of the other companies had, while just about every allied nation was supplied with just about every piece of equipment made, Ford fought on both sides of the war.

Canada
Australia
Germany

Ford had a plant in Germany and some half- tracks were
manufactured there.

Other tracked vehicles included the Studebaker Weasels

Many half-tracks survived the war in private ownership, some even went on to perform public service

weird though as it may seem in some cases.

Or they went into private business

Another company to enter tracked production was Allis Chalmers with the M7 tractor

Most other countries also produced their own tracked vehicles, manufacturers that today you would give a double take if you saw one, Citroen and Alfa Romeo for instance.
