So, you've been waiting all year to break out the grille

Warm weather has finally arrived, you've doing all that Spring yard work while the weather has allowed. Now with the yard clean and the work all done you fire up the grille, throw on some steaks, potatoes and corn on the cob. You wait for it to cook and devour it completely, savoring every morsel. Later that night you find your self in the hospital suffering from a major allergic reaction. What the hell happened.
It turns out you can't have meat, yes all of a sudden you are allergic to the one thing you adore, how did that happen? Well to start with you are probably in the southern States, where this is most common.

Alpha -Gal Allergy,

It is a reaction from Galactose - alpha - 1.3 galactose (Alpha Gal) comes in contact with Immunoglobulin E Antibodies.  The Antibodies are in your body as part of your immune system, The carbohydrate (Alpha Gal) is found in all mammals except Old world monkeys and Apes, (which is you), we do not carry this Carb.

So how did you acquire a carbohydrate not found in humans? You were injected with it, nature bit you, quite possibly in the form of a tic. The southern States carry a 32% more likely chance of catching this carb from a bite than the northern states. It appears that the tics are injecting you with an anti coagulant with it comes a little back wash if you will, from blood taken from other mammals, your body attacks the invasion with such force, producing an over abundance of antibodies and with the consumption of meat, (not pork or chicken) it produces an allergic reaction. This reaction is not instantaneous, often taking 8 to 12 hours to manifest. Symptoms produced are hives, stomach issues, gastro- intestinal issues and difficulty breathing. So your summer BBQs are over, the good news is it does work it's way out of your body, it only takes a few months. So...You can fire that grille up again... sometime around September.

Besides this little guy, chiggers are also members of the Vegan support group
