Well it could be worse, Imagine you're entire life is in about a 3 or so foot range. You are the fairly newly discovered Antarctic Yeti Crab.

Yeti crabs live on the ocean floor in the area of Hydrothermal vents, 

The new found member of the family has been found off Antarctica, it is referred to as the Hairy Chested Yeti.

Averaging between 0.5 of a millimeter and 15mm long these little guys live on the edge of existence, they cluster near the vents, in piles. Move to close to the vent and they become cooked, a short distance away and they freeze in the near freezing depths of 8,500 feet.

The clusters equal 700 critters to a eleven square foot area.
