Pricing a funeral

I went to the Funeral Home yesterday to get a price for a funeral for myself.  Somethings you have to take care of ahead of time.

A basic cremation is around $3000.00, that's the cardboard coffin, body prep, medical examiner fees, crematory charges, body transport and small box container. It's about as cheap as you can go.
A basic funeral for burial is $8000.00 and up.

I asked about an alternative mode...

It turns out that it's not allowed, The Funeral Director says the State frowns on the "toss the body over a stone wall in the woods" method.
