The End of U.S. production of and a picture story of the Goldwing

The Honda Goldwing was introduced at the Cologne Motorcycle show in 1974, the flat four cylinder 999cc GL1000 began hitting the roads in 1975.

Over the years it was redesigned, improved upon, and re-developed to be the Ultimate Touring Motorcycle, the bike with a ride of a Cadillac and gadgets and switches to match.

With a running History like that it is hard to believe Honda would be closing the U.S. plant and moving production home to Japan. But that is exactly what has happened, Honda officially announced  that all production at it's Marysville, Ohio plant has come to a stop.

All further Goldwings will be built at home.
