Finally a Country showing some balls

Remember how well things used to be made, back when there was a pride of workmanship. You bought something and it lasted years.

Well one Country did doing something about it.

France has passed a ruling to get rid of what has become referred to as "Planned Obsolescence".  France has ordered manufacturers to display how long they expect their appliances to last.

The manufacturer has to inform its vendors how long spare parts will continue to be produced. The Vendor then has to pass all information on to the consumer in writing. Failure to do so will carry penalties up to 15,000 Euros ($16,000) in fines.

Now, if the U.S. would get on the band wagon maybe we could buy something that lasts longer than two years.
