Has the E.P.A. outlived it's usefulness?

Usually when a Government organization starts looking at ridiculous things to come up with regulations for, it's a sign that they have run out of real issues and are no longer necessary.

Is this an example, The E.P.A. (Environmental Protection Agency) is looking at your Summer Lifestyle, in particular, that grill sitting in your backyard (or on your porch). According to reports, the E.P.A. is funding the University of California in a study to limit emissions resulting in grease drippings by using a special recovery tray and installing a Catalytic filtration system. The $15,000 project, yes, $15,000 dollars being spent because you are buying cheap high fat content meat, has a potential for Global application. The project will reduce air pollution and health hazards for BBQ'rs related to propane fueled grills.

Now "Real" Grillers use charcoal, and while you think you can bypass the possibility of paying for a catalytic gas grille by switching to charcoal, think again. The E.P.A. is studying the hazards emissions of using charcoal lighter fluid and looking into possible alternatives.

So who knows, maybe, just maybe they will come up with another use for Ethanol. EP20 grill starter fluid.

What I wonder about is the Catalyzer, A catalytic converter on a car is expensive, and the precious metals inside causes thieves to steal the items from parked cars, does this mean you will have to keep your grill in a grill safe hard mounted to your porch or Hilti gunned to the patio when it is not in use. And will there have to be a computer and O2 sensors installed on your grill? Perhaps you will need to bring your grill in for State emissions testing.
