Yup, you go to bed the night before just like you would any other work night, no long nights out having a good time. You wake up just like you do any other work day, drag your ass out of bed, shower, shave, and take care of any other just woke up duties you may have. You get dressed, make a cup of coffee and head down that long road to work. The long road has nothing to do with the mileage, it is the destination that makes it long. You arrive early, unlock the building turn all the systems on then sit back and wait....and wait.
Two and a half hours later the first tech decides he needs something, it is a morning of nothing. I open the doors at eight in the morning and lock them at noon, at 11:15 I have my first customer, and he and I spend the next 20 minutes discussing motorcycles. He owns a BMW and a Sport Bike, I have him try on Charlene for size. He fell in love instantly and as he left he was trying to figure out the finances of owning a Electra Glide.
The next customer came in at 11:40 she wanted windshield washer solvent, It's the repairs that require parts which are challenging to look up that make for a good day, I gave her the solvent and chased her away.
I wrote this for people who ask, "What do you do for a job where you can post all day?" The simple truth is....Nothing.
