Rocket X has performed it's test run and 1st stage landing back at home. The Space station is testing the effects of long range effects of non gravity on humans.

So, build some ships, load them up, and head away to a floating space station.
This will leave the majority of the human race on the planet.
Since tens of thousands of people have signed up for DNA testing for ancestry, there will be a large supply of DNA samples at the station. With Stem Cell work and cloning availability, there will be plenty of people to re-inhabit the planet once the radiation is gone.
So, leave, nuke from space, wait, clone, return.
