My evening...Last night I walked up stairs and turned on my laptop...a god awful noise ensued, sort of a gong banging cacophonous sound. With each pulsing blast the load bar on the computer moved forward an increment. If you clicked one icon another opened, if you right clicked an icon the drop menu quickly scrolled through it's choices over and over again. It was as if someone left your terminal on full blast and set a weight on the keys keeping them depressed. I could see there was nothing on the keyboard but, could a button be stuck. A quick cycle through all the buttons found no issue. I tried a restart and this time the computer failed and went into a restart choice, safe or normal, but the choices flipped back and forth not allowing a decision. Another shut down and restart brought out a Windows 7 Failure - reload Warning. Frustrating, perhaps a Virus had jumped aboard, I got the system shut down and rebooted and received the main screen, I quickly clicked on the Anti-virus site, but it was scrolling and would not allow a choice of a scan. My files, my pictures, and videos, all my short cuts, un-accessible . So I popped the F2 and hit recovery. At last a window that actually worked, I clicked on the date drop menu and once again it was scrolling, a quick bang on the "return" key and a date was chosen. November 2, 2013. Now to confirm the choice...scroll...scroll...scroll...scroll...click....scroll...scroll...click...scroll...click..bingo. The computer went into recover mode...it ran...it shut down....it restarted....it scrolled....
Meanwhile...on the bookcase behind me, there is a second key board...my....wireless keyboard...sitting on a shelf...with my Russian hat lying on it....depressing the keys.....
scroll....scroll....
Stupid wireless crap.
