Drive and Dine II - Wounded Warrior Project Benefit |
Valhalla High School, Valhalla, NY |
06-01-2014 |
Starting at 11:00am |
Features: We started the event last year when the owner, Mike, and myself both said we wanted to support Wounded Warrior Project and give back to our veterans. With that conversation I started the "Drive and Dine." The event starts with a cruise through Westchester County. The cruise is nice and relaxing while participants rev their engines, take pictures, honk, and appreciate the attention we demand. They appreciate it because we are not demanding the attention to our cars but to our cause. The main goal of the cruise is to honor and remember our troops deployed and for all of Westchester to stop and pause on June 1st as we pass by them. Following the Drive we will pull back into Valhalla High School (the start point). Here we will have a "low-country boil" and cookout and a car show. We will also have music, raffles, auctions, 50/50 and more! This is were we use the power of a hobby to bring together everyone in Westchester and raise money for Wounded Warrior Project. Our goal this year is to have 100 cars in the ride along with raising $15,000 for Wounded Warrior Project. The day is truly amazing starting from the police escorted non-stop ride, to passing Fire Departments who have tributes setup that brought tears to everyone's eyes and finishing with a fun car show. The best part is really how people from 18-70 and from Westchester to Fairfield County all coming together and truly honoring our troops. |
