Back when I was growing up radio stations would have trivia questions in order to win prizes and tickets. Back then, winning something like that meant that you had some knowledge. You knew some piece of trivia. You knew some part of history. These were the days before the home computer, and long before the handheld telephone / computer.
Sure it could have meant that you had no life, it could be you were an overflowing well of useless information, but, you knew the answer.
Nowadays what it means is you know how to use Google . What it really means is you're not on your way to work, or you're not at a job where you're doing anything other than listening to a radio and playing, not working on a computer.
