Motorcycle tip for the day

You own an older bike, it has been everywhere and anywhere. The machine has crossed continents, run through customs (Papers please), and run up miles like nobody's business. The paint is faded and battle-scared, (the second paint job). This bike fits you, it has become one with you, it speaks to you and you listen, this noise means one thing, the vibration in your left ass cheek another. The bike is yours, and you belong to it, you have become one.

Then one day, even with the constant upkeep and maintenance it has an issue and instead of riding it home, it rides home on a flatbed. You get it in the basement and rip it down, the engine has a few parts floating that shouldn't be floating and a few pieces that should be parts. You have no choice, you get a hold of the manufacturer and a little while later your new engine arrives.
It's beautiful, it's clean, it shines, it down right sparkles, it is a thing of joy, but..how can you put that on your bike? Your transmission has seen hundreds of miles of pavement, pseudo-pavement and no pavement, Your primary drive and cover look like veterans of the wars and match your bike perfectly.

How can you mount this shining lump to your machine. Well, there are two options, you can have the primary case and transmission removed stripped out and polished, the cover buffed, re-plated or replaced. Now your power lump, drive and trans will match, but will they belong on your trusted frame?  Probably not.

But there is an alternative....

We can get rid of that new engine look..

and all will be right with the world.
