Motorcyclist killed on I-95

I took Jenny (07 SuperGlide) out for a ride Saturday, I decided after cruising around a while to head to the Mystic Diner for coffee. Cruising up I-95 at 8:00pm  I came under Allyn Street (exit 89) rounded the corner and found traffic on the highway stopped. At the Scenic Overlook the left lane had a State Truck with an illuminated Arrow indicating that lane was closed forcing traffic to the right lane. There were vehicles parked in the overlook exit with four ways on and a truck in the right lane with an arrow pushing traffic onto the shoulder. At exit 90 all northbound traffic was pushed off the exit, across route 27 and onto the entrance ramp back to 95 north, I cut off into the Diner. It was a pretty crappy arrangement and the only thing that made it work is the fact that 95 didn't have much traffic on it. There was no Police presence at the bottom of the ramp at 27 so when the light turned red all ramp traffic stopped, backing traffic up on the highway, when it turned green the line went away only to form again when the light went red again. If traffic was heavier 95 would have been a mess. An officer directing traffic at 27 would have been better since 27 had very little traffic and the cop could have directed highway traffic straight through without a pause to back up the highway. The Accident was between the two ramps making the alternate route work.

From The Day paper:
Stonington - A Mystic man died Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle accident on the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 that shut down the highway by Exit 90 for nearly four hours, according to State Police.

At apprxmiamately 5:11pm Douglas P Johnson,60, of 48 Cindy Lane, who was driving a 1982 Suzuki, struck the metal guard rail just before the route 27 overpass before striking wire guide wires, according to a State Police report.
