So, you have your State carry permit...Where can you go with it?

The Connecticut Concealed Carry Permit is honored in a number of U.S. States, these States are:
Arizona, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, North Carolina, Michigan (Ct resident permits only), and Vermont.

Unfortunately...none of these States border Ct.

So if you want to go, lets say..Arizona, you can get on a boat and sail to North Carolina, then you can drive through Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, then turn right and drive up through Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota, Hook a left in Montana, (going around Wyoming) run south through Idaho, Utah and into Arizona.

It has always struck me as funny that Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico don't honor this permit, These are the Wilderness States, Western, Cowboys, Trappers, Indians, the Great adventure States, the nucleolus of the American Free Spirit, lands of Bold Adventure. Brave peoples set out to forge a nation, develop the land, tame nature and make a free life for themselves...I guess it's a good thing there were no Fire Arms laws back in the days of explorers, mountain men, the Land Rush, and settlers.

I was hoping that after all that political posturing after Sandy Hook happened that one thing would come about, I was hoping for a ruling that a Permit issued by a State, is good nationwide. They could have even come up with a Federal permit for States that don't issue permits or require back ground checks. Simply put, if let's say the state you live does not require anything at all for you to own and carry a weapon, there would be a means where upon you as an individual could apply to your state for a Interstate permit. This (because many States require it) would include fingerprints, a background check, and  a Safety Course.  This way if you wanted a gun in the state in which you live, you would not be affected, an if you wanted to travel you would take the extra step.
