Wood Lathe Work

How did they do the patterned bowl, Actually, it's not that hard.

They start with two different woods, cut to the size they wish, (unlike the drawing all pieces should have identical dimensions)

They then place them in the desired order

Each piece then has glue applied and then stacked together and clamped..

Once dry the clamps are removed and the block is mounted to the lathe, Then the shaping begins.

After that the size ans shape are all down to the workman 

Plus with today's technology, the actual lathing can be done by the machine once the designer programs what he wants.
