Isolation and Dragons

I still find it amazing that just 60 years ago there were sections of this planet where people were still isolated from rest of the world.

The year is 1953 and a local farmer is mad and tells a U.N. (United States) U.N. soldier that, "It is not good you came, because you have awakened the Dragons."

Everyday, jets would scream over my fathers head, climb up the mountain face, leave a trail of burning forest behind from a napalm strike, perform a barrel roll down into the next valley. He said you would jump as the noise cracked over you, by the time you looked up the mountain was on fire and the jet was rolling out of site.

Everyday, the local farmers with their priest would march out into the valley banging drums to scare the dragons away.

Today, from anywhere in the world, not only can someone see it, they can look up what it is, take a picture of it and post it for the entire world to view.
