Saturday, a day for the house and Charlene

The plan for today was to work the house, the kitchen has been taking way too long to finish. I decided to get the cabinets done, With 7 left to do I finished 2. The other 5 required cleaning, and painting. First thing this morning I dragged 6 saw horses outside. Proceeded to clean the doors then paint the inside of each. Now you may not be aware of this,  but, waiting ... For paint to dry is about as exciting as watching paint dry. With four of the five cabinet interior surfaces drying, I decided to take a ride on Charlene.

Charlene and I are getting on much better today,  it just took a bit of riding time to get used to her again.  I headed for the diner for breakfast,  I made the mistake of bringing candy for the girls,  I walked in,  tossed it up on the counter and all work came to a halt. Chocolate has an effect on women...before the bag finished skidding across the counter top, eight waitresses were diving for it. This taught me a valuable lesson, order your food first, wait for it to come, eat it and THEN give the candy, because they are not really listening as you tell them what you want while their co-workers are diving in the bag of Lindt truffles and Ferrero Rocher chocolates and they are stuck waiting on you.

Charlene and I (proper use of the English language), headed to Groton, twas Charlene's idea not mine. We hunted down a motorcycle and found it parked at Panera Bread with its owner standing along side it, I ran inside for a coffee and got back on the bike. I was informed that if you buy a coffee, refills are free for the day. I can understand that...After tasting it I determined that it is probably the only way they can get rid of it.

Now following the other bike we headed up route 12 to Norwich and Patches and Leather. The other bike was in extreme need of longer handle tassels, I guess the water wasn't wicking off quick enough. From there we took 12 to 138 in Jewett City then headed over to an ex Club members house for a visit. Leaving there it was a stop at Dunkin for coffee and gas, (With no operating instrumentation on the bike, I take no chances), 1 1/2 gallons later we were cruising down back roads on our way to 201. At 201 and 2 the other bike informed me that it needed beer, Happy hour ends in a half hour, so with him leading we cruised pavement back to Mystic. He went to the bar I went home to check on the paint. With the cab doors flipped over and new paint applied I made way back to Mystic, happy hour may have been over but the drinking wasn't, a shot of jack a couple beers and a step outside for a cig. A very attractive three girls were walking by, one stopped and asked for a cigarette, My cohort may have been quicker but I had menthol, at this point, he told the girl to dump her friends, the other two girls were rather shocked at the comment and the one who was asked started stuttering, with a definite No getting ready to come forth, he switched his attention to the next target walking by, "I like purple dresses". This girl sped up and disappeared. As we stood there laughing a very sweet looking brunette sauntered over. My partner turned to her, whipped the cigarette out of his mouth and offered it to her, "Cigarette?"  She looked up the street, slid over behind us and took a couple drags. My partner noticed this attempt at concealment and said, "married."  Her answer was "Kids, Don't want to let them see me smoking." "Kids?" he said. "A fleet of them" was her answer. She wasn't kidding. My partner asked, "Want to go for a ride on a motorcycle?" She replied with, "Why don't you just ask for me to get a divorce?" So, he did, "Why don't you get a divorce?"  It was about this time the Fleet arrived with the Admiral in the lead. We shot the shit with her and her husband for about a half hour, as a matter of fact, my buddy was still talking to them as I took off.

The next morning, as I inspected the cabinet doors, two of them had the paint peel off in sheets. More cleaning, more painting.
