Preston — A motorcyclist from Jewett City was flown by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital Saturday morning after state police said he suffered serious injuries when he was collided with a car on Route 164 .

State police said Joseph L. Fogarty, 67, was attempting to pass two other vehicles when he collided with a SUV driven by Ariel Doggett, 45, of Franklin, Mass. as she was turning left into a private driveway.

Fogarty suffered head, leg and chest trauma. Doggett suffered minor injuries. Police said Sunday that they did not know Fogarty’s current condition.
